god...its been a really long time. havent written since i moved back to uni. summary time.

right, so the new house is AWESOME. about a thousand times nicer than the nesbitt road hell hole. my room is small but i actually think i prefer small rooms, since i've had one my whole life. i really like the big kitchen and the nice living room and that there's no rat and the hot water works! so thats the house summary done.

uni. i'm loving my documentary group. we all seem to have the same attitude and i think we have a pretty cool documentary idea, this term is just the planning stage of the main project so the workload isn't too heavy at the moment. aside from that im taking some hollywood course which is kinda fun/easy. dont have very many hours a week, have mondays and fridays off which is pretty cool..and it means i can work on the weekends...which brings me onto...

work! been doing fright nights which hopefully means i'll have loads of money this term and wont go into debt next term! yay. havent been getting out till midnight most nights, so its like 14 hour days. again i reiterate the money point and i haven't even been finding it very hard!think i've got used to the lack of sleep and rest. i dont think a shift over 8 hours makes any difference how much longer though..if that makes any sence.

ski committee. have been really enjoying the ski committee stuff. lots of events and drunkeness. on the weekend of the 10th we're going up to edingburgh for BUDS..which is some competition. really looking forward to that because i've never been to edingburgh! cant believe how close the christmas trip is either. its really close now, then i get 2 weeks of skiing! reeeeeeeeeeeally looking forward to that! the last two weeks we've been to oceana on the sports socials. the first week i dressed up hawaiian and the second week it was cartoon characters so i was shrek. its been a lot of fun and many of the boys are FIT.

my health. i decided to do something about the fact i always lose my voice so easily. i went to see my gp and he refered me to a specialist. i have medical insurance so i went private. went on thursday to see the dr and he told me i have a nodule on the right side of my vocal chordsand that i might need speach therapy or even sugery. i have to go for this barium swallow x ray thing on tues which is to find out if i have an acid problem or something. sounds horrible anyway!

urm..i cant think of anything else significant to talk about in my life. oh, aside from the fact im cycling to uni now instead of driving and i've been sucking at dieting and going to the gym, but never mind. i've been so active that i havent been getting fat anyway and i've still been eating relatively well!

hope everyone's ok and maybe ill try and update this more often!!

Sep. 24th, 2007 @ 08:37 am my summer
Current Mood: excited
so i've been utterly dreadful at posting this summer, so i thought i'd do a summary at the end of the summer to make up for it.

I'm going back to brighton today.i was supposed to be going back on saturday, but there was a mix up with us and the estate agents. basically when josie and lucy first put down the deposit for the house they changed our move in date till the 26th, becuase the 23rd was lu's bday so they werent sure anyone would be able to actually move in on the 22nd. When Amy and I then spoke to them we said we wanted to move in on the 22nd. We told parks this. they said they'd get it changed. we went in to sign the contract. it said the 26th. we pointed this out. they said they'd change it and just to sign it anyway. we did. apparently this was our mistake. about a month ago Amy rang up to confirm the move in date. twice. they said it was indeed the 22nd. on the 20th lucy recieved a phone call to confirm we were moving in on the 26th...she in fact didnt confirm this. she said we were moving in on the 22nd. we were told this wasnt possible. all of us rang up seperately and shouted at them. they're denying any knowledge of us repeatedly asking to change the date and are saying they have no log of amy's call. basically they're accusing us of lying. so now we're moving in on the 26th instead (wed) but since i have stuff to do in brighton before then im going down today to stay with Sylvie. the estate agents are total pricks...

anyway, my summer. most of it has been taken up by work. i worked like 220 hours in august which made me quite a lot of lovely money. totally out of debt now with the parents and the bank, and that's before my sept and oct paychecks and my student loan yays. i'm going to work quite a few days during fright nights because im only in uni tues-thurs this term. pretty easy going i know but im not complaining if i have a chance to earn money/sleep/party. work's got a bit boring recently so im very glad to be going back to fun party town! sayign that i've been doing quite a bit of partying with work people this summer. went to kingston a few times with them all, and also the oscars were awesome. the oscars was the staff awards ball. not everyone was invited ti was supposed to be the workers who have been working the hardest etc..so it was nice to get to go to that. it was pretty good with free food and drink all night, altrhough i did spend most of my night escorting drunken collegues to their father's cars. this was good in a way because i didnt get entirely slaughtered. becuase of all this random work partying i've basically been living at bethan's house. hehe

away from work i had an awesome weekend in centre parcs with the family, hayley (dave's woman) and chrissy. me and chris did loads of really fun activities and i didnt want the weekend to end at all. the best bit was probably hovercrafting i think. that was really good fun.

urm...havent done a hell of a lot else this summer, ive pretty much just worked the whole time and done website updates on my time off. the website stuff's looking good..im starting to pick it all up a bit better and am learning pleanty of other IT skills for example i've been using access for our sign up sheet for fresher's fair..which is going to be on wednesday.

the next couple of weeks are going to be uber hectic. tomorrow night im helping to run the fresher's pub crawl after another snow meeting. the next morning is the fresher's fair where we have to get all the freshers to sign up to sussexsnow. harey's coming for a visit that night..i dont know how long he's staying. next week on facebook i have events for every day...which is awesome. also i think harey and alex are visiting on the 6th or something like that and we're going to 2 different houseparties..hehe!!

i think thats all i really have to say for now. im going to watch jeremy kyle and then pack to go down to sylvie in brighton! cant wait!!!

love you all..hope you have an awesome autumn term.
xx

Sep. 17th, 2007 @ 07:23 am 101 things...will post properly soon
The mission is to complete 101 preset tasks in 1001 days. Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

I have until May 2nd, 2010 (this is prob wrong..but i cant be bothered to figure out how long i actually have!!), to do the following -

1) Pass my degree with at LEAST a 2:1
2) perfect my turns when snowboarding and start a bit of freestyle!
3) watch every episode of Lost ever aired
4) Travel America
5) Do a ski season in Canada
6) decide what i want to do with my life
7) Get a boyfriend (i dont really want one now, but i probably will by 2010!)
8) Get a proper job
9) Get back down to 9.5 stone and STAY THERE.
10) limit my drinking to a maximum of three nights a week.
11) learn PHP, 12) HTML, 13)CSS and 14)all of the important web languages
15) Not lose contact with any of my best friends
16) Get over my fear of calling up call centres, taxi companies, resturants, takeaways etc
17) Be in control of a car that is travelling at over 150 mph
18) Go to at least 4 more countries that I've never been to.
19) Watch a film i havent seen before at least once a fortnight
20) Get out of debt (probably going to be pretty hard to do by 2010...but meh)
21) learn another language to an acceptable conversation standard
22) Cook a new recipe at least once a month
23) Read at least 5 books that are dreadful but considered classics
24) learn how to walk in heels without being in extreme pain
25) learn how to curl my hair
26) eat caviar
27) own a bottle of wine that's worth loads of money (like over 25 quid) and leave it in my cellar to mature
28) own my own home (very ambitious one i know..)
29) kept my driving license point free
30) accumulated 6 years no claims
31) purchased the CDs/ DVDs of anything I've ever illegally downloaded (probably impossible lets be honest)
32) learnt the secret of doing makeup well
33) had my legs waxed at least once
34) grown to like fish
35) eaten at the following kinds of restuarants: thai 36) argentinian 37) soul food 38) korean 39)spanish
40) run at least a half marathon
41) try eating rabbit 42)snake 43) pidgeon 44) frogs legs
45) have a multiple orgasm (lol)

Jul. 26th, 2007 @ 09:35 am Harry Potter and My Birthday!
Current Mood: cheerful
hello all!

well, I'm having an excellent week at the moment!

i last posted in an excited fashion on friday, about the new harry potter book. in the day i had to go to work, but it was the really bad, really rainy day and lots of the rides were shut, so thorpe was offering complimentary tickets for people who wanted to leave. because of this it was very quiet, and we actually spent the day cleaning the oven. not all that fun, but never mind! becuase of that we got out by about half 4, which is pretty rare! i was supposed to be going with scott to get harry potter from waterstones in reading that night, but scott had tried to drive through a huge puddle and broken down, and was stuck in arborfield, waiting for the RAC to tow him home for about 8 hours. my dad decided to come with me to waterstones instead, becuase mum didnt want me going alone, or driving in all the floods. anyway long story short, i got my book and we were on our way out of reading by half 12. i read all night, with the help of some red bull, apart from between 4am and 6:30am when i couldnt keep my eyes open and had to sleep. i was finished by about quarter to 12! thought the book was really good, but nothing too unexpected happened, and the very last chapter was almost painfully cheesey and crowd pleasing! i suppose its a childrens book so i cant really complain, hehe. the rest of the day i mainly just chilled out, went to visit the grandparents etc.

(just in case anyone didnt realise i booked a whole week off work)

on the sunday i'd just about recovered from all the reading and the lack of sleep, so i went bowling with harey, alex, freeman and michelle. it was really good fun, especially when we were allowed to have the bumpers up!! hehe. that eve i just had a roast with the family

on monday i went for a run in the morning (and realised how unfit i was) then went shopping in town, and got my haircut. it was nice to just chill out and to have some money to spend, since one of my ns&i certificates has matured so im now rolling in it..well, I'm still in my overdraft, but comparatively rolling in it now. that night i went out to bluebeckers with the family for my birthday meal. it was very yummy! i had a combo starter with dad and steak and ale pie for my main course..then brownies and baileys for dessert. i felt very fat when i'd finished.

i woke up stupidly early on the day of my birthdya. not becuase i was excited about my birthday (well...maybe a bit!) but becuause eating too much had given me a stomach ache which woek me up. i went and opened my pressis with my paretns. i got a video ipod which is awesome! obviously didnt get very much else after that. i had a bacon, sausage and cheese sandwich and played with my new ipod and my i trip, then it was time to head to brighton. journey was easy and the weather was looking lovely which was so suprising and lucky!stopped off at asda on the way to brighton and i bought some plastic champagne glasses (always classy, me!) we went out to the beach and town and i showed all the others the sights (all the others were elmo, rachael, scott and clare) then we went to get a chinese takeaway and headed back to mine to eat it. it was very yummy, and the champagne from plastic glasses was good too. we spent too long getting ready and i had a phonecall from poor rich who was at the hub alone waiting for us, so i hurried everyone along. we were supposed to do themed fancy dress as animals, but the only people who bothered were me, clare and rach! never mind though. sylvie and her friend nick joined us at the hub, then we moved onto the pav tav, where sara and emma were. walkabout wouldnt let us in becuase rich was wearing shorts (weird, since its a backpackers bar...and i was wearing cuttoffs too...but i suppose its different if you're a boy! after that we went to yates. the only reason i wanted to go there was becuause i knew they sold tsing tao..the best beer ever. i was shocked to find out it was only £2 a bottle, whilst other beers were £2.50...weird but awesome. this was when fran, rose and frans sister joined us. next we moved onto the font and got a pitcher of blue lagoon, which was pretty ming. sylvie's friend went home then. we decided to skip the king and queens, which was supposed to be our last stop and just go straight to the gloucester! almost as soon as we got in there they played brand new and jimmy eat world, so i was happy. had an awesome night, and danced with this guy i know from uni and quite like...but then at the end of the night he made it obv he wasnt actually interested, but that was cool anyways. stumbled home and fell asleep on the floor, then on my bed, and finally managed to actually get changed and go to sleep properly!

yesterday we just headed back home from brighton, then i went to the pub quiz with harey, alex and michelle.

today im chilling out then going to see em and kat tonight

tomorrow me and mum are going shopping to spend my birthday money, then its my birthday meal with home friends. yay!!

so, lots to look forward to :o)

Jul. 16th, 2007 @ 12:35 pm alton towers, work etc!
Current Mood: cheerful
i barely ever have time to post on here at the mo, far too much stuff happening.

work's going alright. working like 5 days a week at the mo and generally out from 8am till about half 8 in the eve so not allowing a lot of time for anything else! i have been managing to hang out with people quite a lot though and have a laugh and stuff. a few days ago me, scott, devro, elmo, becca from work and assorted friends went to alton towers. we stayed in the hotel overnight and had an awesome time. only downpoint was the weather: it rained almost constantly! we still went on all of the awesomely good rides and had a laugh. obviously the three of us thorpe workers were total geeks and constantly compared the food units etc..scott was deeply envious that their waffles and ices actually made waffles from scratch with a waffle iron. we had lunch at their version of the glass house and it was sooooooooooooooo yummy!basically just had an awesome time.

we've had a new addition to the munkenbeck family..a little kitten called eliot. dave bought him for mum's 50th birthday. he's very cute but far too energetic for me. plus he attacks everything in sight, including my hands and feet and etc. meg doesnt seem to like him very much either..she gives him a lot of scathing looks. on the actual weekend of mum's birthday my dad took her to see some shows in london and stay in a hotel and stuff. i got the saturday off work and me, dave and dave's woman hayley went up and suprised her and had dinner with her. while i was there i also popped in to visit jonny and saw josie which was awesome.

got most of the website stuff i need to do done now, so thats good. also we made a decision about which tour operator to go for so now thats sorted.I'm looking forward to freshers fair and stuff like that.its going to be awesome. also of course im looking forward to my 3 free weeks of ski holidays im going to get next year!

things are a bit harry potter crazy at the moment too. went to see the film on friday after getting back from alton and thought it was pretty good. i think it was a very difficult book to adapt to film, mainly cos of the length, but i thought they did a very good job of it. i did feel they missed the emphasis at times and some of it felt a bit "introducing random character whose pretty important in the books but we dont really have time to develop them!" also there was some silly niggly little things that bothered me..like them not using the secret keeper thing to find grimrauld place and bellatrix avada kedavraing sirius..and missing a line of the prophecy and not explaining the nevil connection or having nevil's parents in it. all those things were pretty small though. im far more excited about the book which is now only like 4 days away. scott and i are going to go and get it at midnight from waterstones in reading and im going to read it as quick as poss so noone can ruin it for me! I have the 21st till the 27th booked off work..but not just for harry potter, also for my birthday! i'm v much looking forward to it, im going to go to brighton with some home peeps and we're going to go out partying! i plan on drinking lots of nice drinks and eating lots of nice food! hehe.

urm..anything else exciting happening in my life? oh..i got my 2nd year results back. they were a lot better than i expected. overall i got about 69.2%..so painfully close to a 1st! somehow got 75% on my media and politics exam and like 72% on my TV ficitions essay. documentary didnt go so well. think i got 62% which is a 2:1 i supose so still good..but i think i could have done better. and i suppose its really not bad considering how disasterously the project itself seemed to be going at times! generally I'm very pleased!

thats about all i have to say for now! hope everyone's good! xx

well...

lots of fun things have been happening recently. as many of you know i had a bbq/party last friday which i thought went really well. an interesting group of people turned up and we had a lot of fun (well..i did anyway!) the next day was spent solely recovering and cleaning. didnt do a lot on the sunday either, except go and pick dave up from the station as he'd just got back off holiday. the monday i had to drive back to brighton to sort house related things out...then it turned out that i actually didnt have to after all becuase by the time we got to town all the banks were shut! we went out for an itallian instead which was really really yummy. after than me and lu watched bridget jones and i fell asleep in front of the TV as normal. on tuesday we actually made it to the bank and sorted out our joint account for the hosue next year and also then went to the estate agents and i paid all my deposit and stuff (im now extremely poor..) also signed about a billion different things..bits of the contract and the like. by the time we were done we were really tired for some reason and went back home. that night i went to emmas with tanya and laura. we ate cake and drank wine and watched how to look good naked. twas fun.

unfortunately whilst i was in brighton i hadnt bought any spare contact lens solution with me, so when i ran out i had to make do blind/with glasses for the rest of the week. that was really annoying!

on wednesday it was our committee bonding trip to thorpe park (compliments of me obviously) that was a really good fun day and we went on most of the good rides and stuff. got back from thorpe at about half 7 and then jon and josie turned up and we went to buffet island for an all you can eat chinese with sylvie. it was awesome, and they had tsing tao so i was happy! after that we all went to the king and queens for a drink, then josie and jon went home and sylvie and i headed to honeyclub. first people we bumped into were tash's friends amy and mel so we spent most of the night with them. highlight was when they played this aint a scene in the MAIN ROOM and me and sylv went MAD..headed off home at about half 2 and got a taxi.

the next day i had to get up early. me and the rest of the committee had meetings with tour operators all day to decide who we were going to contract to organise our holidays this year. the first people we met with were called wasteland..their rep person was a very attractive woman called lou..so the boys were instantly won over. she gave us free t shirts also which helped, and stayed for about 2 hours talking. after she left we all went to get food from falmer bar and got ready to meet the next company- ski bound. they were more of a schools/colleges operator and didnt have a clue what we wanted or expected and what kind of stuff the other operators offered us. we felt quite sorry for him but had to get rid of him as quickly as possible so that meeting only lasted about half an hour. after that we laughed for a while and then it was our first ever AGM. only 4 people turned up so that was slightly pointless. after that i went home. josie and lucy had both gone home for good by this point, and it was very quiet and boring in the hosue. i had really nice sausage and mash, started packing up my room a bit and then fell asleep by accident on my bed at about half 9!

friday was more meeings. first thing in the morn was a new company called t7 adventure. they all used to be ski club committee members themseleves so obviously had a good idea of what we wanted, although they were more aimed at the corporate/young professionals market than unis. i was quite impressed by them, but some of the others were too concerned about the company's age and lack of experience. after them was some lunch, then ski alpine, who we've been with the last 6 years or something ridiculous like that. at first i wasnt impressed with them but by the end they'd won me over a bit.they definitely offered the most extra incentives etc. they also helped us decide what resorts we would like to go to which was useful (i can never remember all the random french names, so i wont tell you all which ones) we were supposed to have a meeting after that but the company are really disorganised and didnt realise so we decided just to tell them not to bother...if they couldnt even organise themselves to go to a meeting how are they going to organise 200 people to go skiing?? so after that we discussed all the companies a bit and then went home. i packed up my house and put it all in my car and drove home to wokers. got stuck for a while on the silly M25 but got home by about 8..pretty reasonable. i had to rush straight out to emily's bday celebration thingy. that was quite fun but i was tired and grumpy. i went home about half 11.

yesterday i had an eventful day at work. was pretty busy and hectic in the morn and then at about 3 there was a powercut. we ended up having to evacuate the park. i got asked to go and direct traffic which i did and then of course it started PISSING it down. it was really heavy rain and i was soaked through to the skin. also people kept shouting abuse at us all..which is really unfair becuase a power cut is staines power boards fault..and the reason it was taking so long to get out the carpark was mainly because the lights were down throughout staines so it was generall busy everywhere. people kept reving right up our heels when we stopped a lane of traffic for a while which was stupid of them too. we werent stopping it for our own health after all, we were trying to make it fair! after that i got back to BBQ and they'd finished cleaning, so we went home. i had a lovely curry for tea and then went to the pub with alex harey and freeman for a drink.

i have to go to work now, so laters all!

right, i officially have nothing to do with myself, so i think its time to do a proper update.

the exam on tuesday went quite well i think. there was a question about african americans in films which was exactly what i wanted. im sick of studying civil rights, since i seem to have to do it at least once a year, but at least i know the subject inside out now! also answered one about cinema in the great depression and one about the american obsession with having monsters as heroes or something. very exciting.

on the way back from my exam i was busy chatting to my friend tash, who i was giving a lift home, and didnt see a curb which jutted out into the road a bit, further than expected. i hit it at about 30 and the car practically took off! i stopped the car becuase i saw my hub cap fly off, then as i went to get it tash realised my rim was severely dented and my tyre was deflating. we changed the tyre then and there (we were very proud of ourselves for figuring out how to aswell! it did include me literally jumping on the wrench because the bolts were done up too tight) yesterday i took the car to kwik fit and they gave me a new tyre and realigned my wheels..apparently they were 22mm out which is immense or something! he said it should have been pulling but i didnt notice it. bit annoyed though, becuase when i got back to wokingham yesterday i noticed there was a slight scrape on the side of my car and that plastic strip bumpery things thats on the side of cars is slightly hanging off. i think they must have scraped it at some point when they were moving it. usless mechanics that cant drive! anyway, that whole episode was a nice waste of 70 quid.

in other news the alchol mejobby's been going less well the past couple of days. post exam i had a pimms and lemonade, 2 pints of kronenburg, a glass of red wine, 2 pints of carlsberg, 2 pints of hienekan and a half of carling...yesterday i had a bottle of cobra, a glass of red wine and 2 pints of kronenburg. im not going to drink anything tonight, then ill drink on friday..and that will be my 3 nights of drinking of the week, which isnt too bad (for me anyways)..

i've got through all of house now..thats 3 seasons in 2 and a half weeks. quite impressive i think! it was pretty much all that got me through my revision though...its really awesome, everyone should watch it. hugh laurie is a legend and chase aka billy from neighbours is incredible...he was my first crush when i was little hehe. he's still hot.

so im back in wokingham now, with a free house, until monday...then im going back to brighton until the following friday...then im back in wokingham for good and back at work next saturday!

in other news, i think im starting to get the hang of php, and i really like it! it makes things about a thousand times easier than html.

that would be all for now.

Current Mood: busy
i have an exam today. not particularly worried about it. it was a seen exam so i already know what questions im doing and have written essay plans. its just a matter of remembering them now! when this is done i have one more exam, which isnt for 10 days. but im going to hang around here anyway, there seems to be quite a lot going on. week 10 (the last week of term, after my exam) is going to be really busy with ski committee stuff, so i have to stick around till then. wont be back till about the end of june, sorry everyone! i bet time will fly by though. maybe some of you could come visit if you get bored?

i went back to thorpe last week and had lots of fun and loads of good thorpe parties. also had my review and got my dream ticket. yay. spending 9 of them on a comittee bonding session though. that doesnt really matter because charlotte put the wrong start date for me so i can get my 6 month top up in like a few weeks. i was thinking maybe those of us who arent working regimented hours etc could go there for my bday. then maybe go partying in brighton or something afterwards. i booked the whole week off work, and i have my house here till sept! just an idea anyway!

got a new phone recently and had some probs with cold calling. this insurance company called pretending to be my insurance company and basically i was an idiot and let them trick me into giving out card details over the phone. i did cancel the card and contact the carphone warehouse and the police when i realised it wasnt my insurance company, but the police said they havent technically done anything illegal, and my mum said they've actually got terms and conditions and policy documents and stuff from them. next week im going to ring the citizens advice bureau and see if they've actually done anything illegal or not! at the moment im only like 60 quid down thouhg. they could easliy have cleared out my whole account. im going to be far more careful in future. my new phone itself is uber pretty though! i love it.

urm..ive run out of tv shows for the time being..nothing is on in the US anymore (how awesome was the lost season finale?!?! heroes...not so much awesome. in fact pretty crap) i've been downloading weird british comedies recently. peep show and green wing and teachers. really like green wing, but found the way they ended it pretty depressing and unsatisfactory. mac is incredible too...i dont know how someone who's really not particularly physically attractive can actually be that attractive...if that makes any sence at all. been to the cinema with amy a couple of times too. though pirates 3 was utter shite..didnt have a clue what was going on most of the way through and it really dragged on. should a kids film really need an interval? also saw zodiac which was ridiculously long and dull also. gylenhaal is quite good in it though. still need to see magicians. also amy wants me to see 28 weeks later, so i need to see 28 days later first really. although im not a zombie fan usually the trailers look really good. the main appeal to me is that its on in the duke of yorks which is this awesome little cinema with a bar and like really comfy chairs and stuff. thats where we went to see zodiac...i fell asleep, it was too comfortable.

hmm..what else is happening in my life? romance=0. havent even pulled in bloody ages. not particularly bothered really. dont know when id actually fit a man in. im getting a bit chub again. its so annoying it seems like if i dont want to put on weight i have to be in the gym literally every day and only eat low fat stuff. i think its probably the alcohol thats doing it. maybe i should drink less...i always intend to then someone invites me out somewhere and its all down the toilet. maybe i should just start drinking neat vodka..apparently thats not very fattening...

urm..think thats about it on my life. hope everyone else is gooood!
xx

right...when did i last post? since then ive been incredibley, crazily busy.

in the last couple of weeks ive had visits at uni from Kat, Clare, Chris and Harey. Kat only came down for one night, and we went to this brazillian restuarant. the food there was awesome, as were the cocktails. the day was a bit uneventful, but fun nonetheless. on the first night of Clare, Chris and Harey's visit we threw a bit of a bday party for harey with balloons. we were supposed to have a BBQ, but it was raining so i did it in the oven. skiing chris and amy came along too. we ate too much and played i've never. it was good fun! the next day we went to see sunshine and had a mcdonalds (urg. i now remember why i dont often eat them...) sunshine was utterly utterly awesome. good film. clare went home after that and we had pizza and salad for dinner then went out to falmer bar, we planned on going to hothouse but it wasnt open. instead, falmer bar was open till 3.it was a bit crap though, some guy with decks was playing shit hip hop. skiing rich turned up randomly though, it was good to see him. we headed home at oneish and i was an idiot and got garlic bread from a pizza place near our house. i regretted that. we then stayed up till 3 watching stupid channel 5 quiz thingies. the next day we did very little!

other times ive been out have been numerous. did pub golf with the mingle and drink society a couple of weeks ago. that was awesome fun. i got very competitive and managed to get 10 strokes on 9 holes. in other words i downed all but one of my drinks in one. i was quite drunk, but it was worth it. danced the night away in koo klub afterwards. i also went out the day i handed all my essays in. all the MPT lot crashed the 3rd year degree show and drank all their free wine. we then headed to nandos for food, followed by walkabout where i randomly played a game of twister in my bra on stage. not my finest hour. then we went to buddies all night resturant for more food...

essays and documentary and stuff are all done and dusted. that was a quite boring couple of days. dont think they're too bad, but they;re not earth shatteringly good either. josie read them through and seemed to think they were alright. she's good at proofreading. i struggle to care about doing fantastically well in my degree, as long as i do enough to get a decent pass. which i should do.

urm. im currently at home for a week, working at thorpio. tomorrow im going to a school disco social with bethan and co. im staying at her house afterwards then we're going to stumble to work the next day, and we have an f&b party that night! its quite nice at the moment becuase its pretty quiet and calm on weekdays. me and bethan generally get left to do our thing too. wish i was getting paid to be a senior though, instead of just being treated like one! doesnt bother me all that much though.

ski comittee stuff is scaring me. i had my handover with jackson, and it turns out he designed the whole website by writing psp code. it seems pretty difficult. i may have to make my own from scratch, becuase i just dont get this one...i might have enough understanding to just update it though. will be fucked if something goes wrong....the committee stuff itself is more fun. we have the snowball next mon and i bought myself a dress in which i actually think i look good. a rarity!!

tv shows are all awesome at the moment. lost is probably the best its ever been, heroes is coming up to season finale. its all good.

urm. thats all i can be arsed to say for now. basically my life is awesome and im enjoying myself a lot but also working hard on a number of things.

that'll do for now. bed.

im getting very bad at posting arent i?

having a really awesome time at the moment. after the ski trip reunion last week i decided to apply to be on the comittee next year and then i had an interview type thing with marie, next year's president, and on tuesday i found out that i'm now the sussex snow media manager, so im responsible for maintaining the website, setting up online booking and etc and also making the trip dvd next year! im slightly concerned ive taken on a bit too much and not sure how my technical knowledge will stretch, but im sure it will be ok..anyways yesterday as my first offical sussex snow buisness i went to watch the race team take on brighton at some slope in kent somewhere. everyone started drinking ridiculously early and were all quite nicely tipsy by the time we got there. after all the real races (which we won every one of..) we did lots of silly joke ones. i took part in most of the joke ones. the best one was one in which we had to put on a bra and thong over our clothes, RUN half way down the mountain (which was about 50 meters and really steep) put two grapefruits in the bras and then run back up the mountain, do a shot of vodka and take off the underwear, giving it to the next player. the most brutal one (for me) was the one in which we had to run, topless (we were allowed to keep our bras on thankfully), right to the bottom of the mountain, then long arm a can of beer (downing it at arms length, so basically you have to aim for your mouth but it will prob just go all over you..) this was brutal for me because i was already relatively drunk, so running down a mountain, in ski boots (which are very hard to even walk in!) was a bad idea. i tripped over my feet, went head over heals and skidded quite a way down the mountain. now dry slopes are unfortunately not made of a nice powdery material like snow, instead they are made of something similar to what broomheads are made of..and as ive already mentioned i was only wearing a bra...so basically i ended up scratched and cut pretty much from head to toe. maybe a bit silly of me, but all in the name of fun! hehe. after all the races we went to get food and the man at the burger van randomly gave me a free beer, but i wasnt complaining. on the way back we all mooned the other minibus which was fun..and we were also given a free crate of beer (between just 5 of us...) the mini bus dropped us right outside po nah nahs and we went straight in to start partying. i bought a couple more drinks then almost fell asleep on a sofa. eventually a few more poeple started to arrive and i livened up. half way through the night they did a random thing where both sussex and brighton introduced their new comittee..then we had to do a boat race against them, which we won incredibley easy. i was totally knackered and pretty drunk, what with all the mixing they'd made us do, by about half 1 and decided to head home. had a really awesome fun day and look forward to many more like that next year! oh, and the best thing about it? i get to go on all of the ski trips for free next year!!!!!

other important things going on is my uni work i suppose. i have a tv fictions and entertainments essay to do which is supposed to be 3,500 words.. i also have my project to finish editing (which is taking ages, but its starting to come together a bit better!) then a 4,000 word critique to write of that. but i have 2 weeks to do that so im sure it'll be fine. i then have 2 exams, one on SATURDAY :o( 2nd of june, and one on 12th june. the one on the saturday is pretty good though, because we get to see the exam paper a week before, so im going to just spend that week revising solidly and formulating plans for my answers.

urm, went to a party last saturday and got incredibley incredibley drunk. it was one of the best parties ive been to in years though, the house was huge and they had an awesome pa system set up and were all doing dj sets and stuff. i consumed a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine and then a few cans of beer. clearly not a good idea. pulled some posh guy even though he was extremely arrogant and annoying. think i put him off me around the time that i threw up..i should never mix red and white, it always does that to me.

basically im trying not to drink too much at the moment, but then i keep getting invited out all the time and end up drinking because when you're sober drunk pepole are really annoying!ive also been trying to eat really healthily and drinking smoothies and stuff. and im still going to the gym of course too. trying to get my muscles to shrink because they're manly and scary, so ive been doing loads of reps on really low weights, apparently that should make them less muscley and more toned..i think i can kinda see it working on my legs but less so on my upper body. ive also been doing less sit ups because my stomach muscles were really scary and my stomach is looking a lot better now. so, yes..thats me being vain. i really think id be incredibley healthy if it wasnt for the alchol..

today kat and clare were supposed to come down for a visit, but kat had some family issues so they cant come anymore which is a bit dissapointing becuase i was really looking forward to seeing them both. hopefully clare might come next weekend though, becuase harey is coming too and we could have a bit of a belated birthday celebration for him. i dont know what to do with myself today now. lucy and i are going to go to sainsburys for some food shopping then i might start writing my tv fictions essay. i need to get hold of an episode of the most recent series of you are what you eat,but it doesnt seem to be on 4OD dammit!

hrm. enough rambling for now. hope everyone is good and that i get to see you all pretty soon.

things here have been pretty eventful but nothing ridiculous..no day by day accounts, as they would be rather boring, but here is a general round up for your reading pleasure.

had a pretty depressing weekend in some ways, both lucy and amy broke up with their respective others..on the same day..so ive been being an agony aunt a bit. i obviously dont mind at all, but i spent a lot of time sitting in to make sure everyone was ok rather than getting on with things.

on friday it was sylvies birthday and i went to hers after consuming a bottle of wine, consumed another bottle of wine, talked to some very posh guy about history and hitler and stuff for a while, and then recieved a call from lucy who was crying becuase she'd had a pre breaking up arguement with neil, so i drunkenly ran home, straddled her, told her she was fit and i would, and then pretty much just fell asleep. so i was very useful then..although she said it cheered her up..whether she's telling the truth or not i dunno!

saturday was rich's birthday. i made lucy come out with me becuase i wasnt having her sitting alone in the house moping. it was fun and rich was very drunk because everyone kept giving him wine. really good to see all of the crew again, but i would have rather not seen chris vomiting...he'd been at a bbq drinking since lunchtime apparently.

urm...what else. my trampolining competition got cancelled due to lack of interest which sucks becuase i managed to learn my routine and everything

im detoxing for a couple of days at the mo, would like to have the chance to do it for longer but i keep getting invited out and you all know i dont waste a good chance to drink..but yeah ive stopped eating chocolate and cut down on my cheese, and ive gone back on the fruit kick including drinking lots of smoothies which are actually really nice. also i havent drunk anything for a few days, which is good for me and i know i could do it for way longer! also ive been gymming quite well and generally been organised and tidy and trying to get on with my work, not laze around...generally living better.

our documentary is currently the bane of my life. it looks really shit. ive been editing a lot even though its not my job becuase ivor who is our editor is uselss. the other day we organised a shoot only for everyone to text 2 hours before hand and say they couldnt make it so it was just me and mike the director, and then the batteries on one of the lights went out making it impossible to do half the stuff we wanted to which was really quite annoying. feel more like we're getting somewhere after today though, we did a proper paper edit and have worked out EXACTLY what we still need to film. most of it is good to be filmed in the studio too which cuts out the worry of location etc. also i had a really good idea about photoshop and stop frame animation which might look really good if i can make it happen.

tomorrow is the les arcs reunion where we get to watch the trip dvd..i cant wait but i need to get myself some kind of costume. im thinking army girl or cowgirl are the only easy possibilities..but im going into town tomorrow morning. i may be inspired. the theme is "when i grow up i want to be" so any ideas would be well appreciated. what a horrible question to ask anyways. also im thinking of applying to the sussex snow committee (damn, i was supposed to write my application tonight) as the media manager. i think comittee members may get to go on trips for free!!

hrm..think thats about all fr now. hope everyone's cool!

i have a new house. its awesome. we looked around about 6 today and 3 of them were lovely, the rest were also ok, but i was suprised at how awesome some of them were. we didnt go for the one that was my personal fave becuase it was RIGHT at the top of a huge hill and since amy doesnt have a car she didnt fancy the walk everyday. it was HUUUUUUGE though with this giant tiered garden with a view of all of brighton and hove and this massive kitchen about 4 times the size of my current kitchen and a lovely lounge/dining room type thing. anyways, the house we actually got is about a 2 minute walk from my current house, right by sainsburys and it has 4 really nice pretty big rooms with built in warddrobes and stuff, and a really nice lounge..and its generally very pretty. it also has gas hobs which REALLY excited us. and the lounge has wall lights with a dimmer switch and this awesome stone fireplace. i think it looks quite posh. only slight problem might be parking, its unrestricted but the street looked pretty busy. worst comes to the worse i can always park like a street away though. anyways yes thats all very exciting and im looking forward to living with amy too. here's a pic of the house.

i know i havent posted in ages..but now i am so noone can moan at me!!

last week was just work work work. i worked 12 days with only 1 day off. many of those days were a lovely 13 hours long (9am-10pm) on my day off i went clothes shopping in reading with jonny who'd come back for the weekend. we saw blades of glory (which is utterly hilarious, almost as good as anchorman) then i bought 2 v necked jumpers for £10 and a billiabong zipped hoodie thingy which was on sale. then we had some lunch with harey and eventually went home. that evening i went to the pub with charlesy, elmo, chris, freeman, alex and harey. on the friday i managed to get out of work at 6 for once and i didnt start until 11 the next day so we went to bez's bday party at the cricket club which made me feel like i was 16 again and was really fun, we even played football outside drunkenly when it had finished!

after work on saturday we went to the pub because we got out at half 8 so that was fun. work over these holidays has been a bit busy and hellish but also fun in some ways and great to see everyone of course. working the BBQ is probably harder than any of last years units and ive certainly burnt myself a hell of a lot more, but i still quite enjoy it. charlotte is by far the best team leader ever in the history of teamleaders which has really helped too.

since ive been back in brighton ive had a lot of fun but am struggling to care at all about any of my work. im hating our documentary project with a passion, and wish i was editing now. dont think i have a natural aptitude for camerawork..my tv fictions essay might be interesting. im so not going to revise for media and politics..its a seen exam and we get the paper a week beforehand so ill have a whole week to revise and i wont waste time revising things that i dont need to know! american cinema should be pretty easy too.

going out wise ive been pretty busy. when i got back on monday i went to santa fe with emma to celebrate anna's birthday, i was pretty knackered though so i went home by 11 and didnt get very drunk. on tuesday we decided to have a bbq in the back garden becuase josie did some lambing over the holidays and got given loads of free meat for her troubles so that was a lot of fun. after the bbq had burnt out we turned it into a camp fire and fran found a whole dead tree down the side of our shed which we burnt. josie drank a whole bottle of wine in about an hour and was pretty drunk. it was all very entertaining. last night i went out for someone called sara's birthday, we went to varsity (which is awesomely cheap on a wed £1.25 for a pint!!) then on to 80s night at the beach which was fun but i started to get tired. there were some highly attractive men in there too which was fun. left there about half 1 though and again wasnt that drunk so im not hungover today :o) on friday its sylvies bday so im going to hers and then probably onto the gloucester and on saturday its rich's birthday so we're going to the rocsoc night at some random pub but there should be good music all night, plus ill get to see all the les arcs lot again which is its main appeal! also this weekend i have to go to trampolining becuase the competition is in 2 weeks and i dont even know my routine yet :oS next week's social calender hasnt actually been planned yet although we're suposed to be filming some more on monday night and its the les arcs reunion on the thursday so im sure itll be filled. hehe. first couple of weeks back are always totally manic.

today we're going to view lots of houses all in the area we live now. that should be exciting. one of them looks lovely from the outside but the lady from the estate agents warned me that its a bit of a state inside. cant be much worse than our house though!

urm, ive been being lazy in the gym, but i figure its better than not going at all. i prob pushed myself too much last term anyways which is why i kept injuring parts of myself!

thats about all i have to say for now. oh asides from look at this awesome picture that surfaced of me boarding on facebook.i love it!!

Current Mood: working
this is just going to be a quick one, not detailed, as im currently halfway through of a 6 day week of 9-9 work so i dont have a hell of a lot of time on my hands. i was told to come in at half 10 today becuase scott's gone over the legal number of hours he's allowed to work this week. its nice to have a lie in!

so since ive been back off holiday the main thing i've done is work. i've definitely got the hang of bbq now but still havent been in juices or mexican and not enjoying getting back into waffles, it was always the messiest unit and now it has a doughnut machine too. the result? getting well and truely covered in crap from head to toe. lots have new people have started which is good becuase they seem to like the crap jobs like till so thats awesome. yesterday was so incredibley busy, we took 6 grand, which is a hell of a lot..the most bbq has ever taken is 8 or 9 or something and there was only 11,000 on park yesterday. basically we did well is the gist of it. bit upset that im not getting to enjoy the sun or the chilled out easter weekend like the rest of the world but i REALLY need the money so its all good.

other things ive been up to is going to see mcr last week in london. had a really nice couple of days becuase i went up early and spent the day shopping in london with jonny. then we went out for dinner before hand which was yummy although we made the mistake of drinking a bottle of wine each beforehand and hence i was a bit drunk and dehydrated and had to leave the pit. whilst i didnt realise it at the time i was informed afterwards by someone from work who went too that they played the entire black parade album in order and then a few of their good older tracks. twas awesome and very theatrical etc. afterwards me and helen, one of jon's housemates, got randomly given VIP passes by some people who didnt want them so we went backstage where there was a free bar, we thought we would get to meet the band. unfortunately they were behind this curtained section and we did wander through to it at one point and were a couple of meters away from them, but then the bouncer told us to go back to the bar so we did. was quite exciting though and we got free drinks. so that was a good couple of days. was really knackered the next day though and managed to leave a birthday card that i'd bought for gemmel on top of a payphone so that was a nice waste of money. when i got home that day my mum then took me and dave out for lunch at the leathern bottle so i've been eating well.

also been spending quite a lot of time with kat and clare and emily.last friday night we went to the new rose then the gig house. saw loads of people from school and got a tad drunk which was fun. had to go home pretty early though because i had work bright and early the next day. the following monday, on my day off i went to kats new house in brighton for the day with clare and we just hung out and ate far too much crap and played silent hill, that eve em came over too and arty got home and we ordered a really yummy chinese and played i never which was a real laugh.

at some point harey and alex came over too and we watched jarhead, which is a good film

urm...anything else happened? oh, last weekend dave's gf hayley came to stay for a couple of days. she seems really nice!

my nan's down to stay over easter too, but i doubt ill be around much to see her or do anything! i have tuesday off...thats the only day i have off before i have to go back to brighton so i was thinking about arranging a reading shopping trip if anyone's around in the day and maybe a pub trip or something similar at night! if anyone's interested please inform me!

i better get up now and have a shower

Mar. 30th, 2007 @ 02:59 pm finally! a finished LJ about my holiday!
Current Mood: happy
right so i feel its time to post about my holiday, but this is going to be a huuuuuge post and take ages so itll have to be in parts.

my holiday started at about 5 o clock on friday 16th march when i got to university. i signed in and left my bag in a pile of other bags. i had to move my car so i went off and did that. around this time i started to feel a bit lonely. everyone else was in groups of people and i didnt know anyone so i went off to the library and went on the internet for a while. after about half an hour i decided to stop being a wimp and go find people so i went off to falmer bar where everyone seemed to be. immediately i found a couple of groups of people who i knew and who were on my bus so i hung around with them for a while. at 7ish our coach arrived and we all piled on. i found someone i vaguely knew to sit with and met MJ, my roomate who sat in front of me and we chatted a bit! we got given party bags for the bus which was awesome. they had lots of nice food and condoms and stupid things like that in them. the trip to dover only took about an hour and a half which meant we were able to get an earlier train that we thought we would, this put us in a good position for winning the race to les arcs. i should now take a sec to explain the busses competition. because there were 5 busses of people going on the trip an interbus competition had been devised. each bus had a name, which was based on a decade..we were the 70s bus and there was also the 50s,60s,80s and 90s busses. basically there were a lot of different competitions and we got points for each one. the bus with the most points were the overall winners. so yes, one of the things we got points for was being the 1st to get to the resort. unfortunately the 90s bus managed to get on the same ferry as us so we had some competition. the ferry was a bit mental. some of the guys had bought beer bongs along so there were people chugging beer everywhere. then they realised that other people on the boat were people on a ski trip with warwick university so immediately they challenged them to a boat race. for those whom are ignorant to boat races they are basically a downing relay..you have like 5 members of a team who each have a pint and the first person downs their pint and the second person has to wait for them to finish etc. anyways apparently we beat warwick. on the boat all of my roommates gravitated together and we all had a proper chat and stuff which was nice. we also all met a guy called rich who was running around drawing stars on everyone's faces in permanent marker. sian and nicki, 2 of the girls in my room, were medics, so a lot of other medics wondered over and said hi at various points.

the ferry journey was only about an hour 20 so we were soon back on the boat, but everyone was a little bit drunk and continued to drink when we were back on the bus. some drinking games were played and we all got pretty pissed which was a good ice breaker. eventually everyone started to fall asleep. we were awoken at about 4am when we stopped at a service station. everyone got food, water etc. after we got back on the bus they put anchorman on and everyone drifted in and out of sleep for most of the day. we got to the town of bourg st marie at about 1 o clock and stopped at a supermarche to buy our food for the rest of the week. i was pleased to discover my roommates had similar food tastes to me..apart from sian who is a freaky vegitarian..hehe. so we bought loooooads of pasta and some noodley stir fry type bits and bobs and 2 HUGE bags of apples (pink ladies are sooooooo cheap in france!:o))the high point though was of course the booze, i bought 3 bottles of wine, a bottle of fizzy wine and a crate of 24 kronenbourg..awesomeness. there was a lot of fun racing to get everyone back to the coach in time so that we would leave in front of the 90s coach, which would have basically guarenteed us the race to resort win. unfortunately some people from our coach let us down and 90s got away before us, despite members of our coach attempting to sabotage members of their coach by stealing their shopping. when we got to the resort we had a few hours of waiting for our room keys to arrive which was really boring and shit. eventually got into our room 6ish and claimed our beds. i made the best decision managing to inadvertantly shotgun the fold out double bed! i was very chuffed with myself. we all unpacked and had showers then made some dinner (burgers and salad) in the eve we had to go and pick up our lift passes and find out about our lessons etc. we got bored pretty early and were all knackered so we went home and had some sleep.

the next morning i got up early to go and get some snowboarding done, however when i got up to the top of the slopes i realised the binding was broken on my board, which meant i had to have a very embarassing trip back down the mountain on the chairlift with some mountain rescue man accompanying me, becuase apparently you're not allowed to go down on a chairlift by yourself :oS the mountain rescue man was very talkative, and made a point of attempting to chat me up in a broken mixture of french and english. particular gems were "you should get a french boyfriend if you want to learn to speak french better" and "this is not a free service. you will buy me a drink tonight, yes?" i managed to get away and get back to the hire shop where they fixed my board, then on the way back to the slopes i found MJ and went up with her. unfortunately she couldnt even get the hang of standing up on her board so i spent most of the morning slowly edging down the slope with her, until my friend merrie turned up, on skis, and i decided to leave MJ and go down with merrie. after one really fun run with her we decided to go up to l'arpette- the restaurant everyone was advised to meet at for lunch. the route to it was really horrible though, and i had to keep getting off my board and walking becuase it was too flat and i wasnt good enough to build up speed.got there eventually and found most things included cheese and there was a half hour que for food. joined it anyway and had some very nice spaghetti bolognese (had to ask for it with no cheese though of course!) after my spag bol i had to mission it down the mountain as i was late for my lesson. at the start of the lesson we were put into groups according to previous experience, ability etc. cant really remember the lesson that well. i think they may have started trying to teach us turns but meh..who knows. that night we ate pasta i think, then it was the bottom of the garden social. as the name would suggest we all had to dress up as something you'd find at the bottom of the garden. my costume was a cat but most people were faries or gnomes or something similar. we all got very nicely drunk that night and made loads of new friends, so it was a good ice breaker. here are some pictures:

...and after!

the next morning i felt a tad dodgy, but i made myself get up and hit the slopes. was too tired and out of it to really do anything though. think i did about 3 runs then went back to the room for lunch with sian where i had a very nice nap. in my lesson that afternoon they split us further into another 2 ability groups. i was in the top one, which i was pleased about obviously, that lesson was quite hard, and i felt a bit like i was struggling compared to the rest of the group, especially since there was a bit of a blizzard and no visibility and we went up higher than we'd been before. i felt very pushed to do better though so it was a bit of a blessing in disguise. that evening was chill out night so we invited a load of people to our room and we had some stir fry and strawberries and ice cream and stuff. weirdest moment of the evening was when rich was joking about and playfully threw a spoon at harry, and harry jumped up and started trying to hit him, it scared everyone a bit, but rich and steph difused the situation really well. in all it was a fun night and everyone went home at about 12 so we got loooooads of sleep and were refreshed for the next day!

the following morning i had promised harry i would go and do some runs with him (before the weird hitting incidenct..but i didnt have anything else to do so i still went along) we met up with my friend nick who was in my lessons and a guy called gareth who was on snowblades as well as tom who is a really nice guy and harry's friend. we went right to the top of the mountain on this horribley fast chair lift and did a really nice powdery red run. i worked on my turns quite a bit too. harry kept making us go along these horrible flat paths which i hated. think i went to l'arpette for lunch again that day, met up with sian and nicki and the whole possee and had some chicken and chips. made it back in time for my lesson which was a really good one and i didnt feel like i was struggling anymore. we went off piste loads through really thick snow and i even did a couple of jumps and goofy turns and things like that. felt really elated after that. went back to the room and probably ate pasta then got ready for the pajama party social. i was really tired at the pj party although my costume was awesome, but i still stayed out till pretty late, just quite sober. i think this was the night that nicki got quite drunk and chris and i had to escort her home whilst she giggled continuously..that could have been a different night though. they all merge into one a bit. here is a picture of us in our pjs.

hmm..not sure what i did the next mornning. think it might have been the day that i headed up the mountain by myself and worked hard on my turns and stuff, went back to the room for lunch. had a pretty disastorous lesson that night, kept falling and smacking my head and eventually smacked it really hard against a chair lift and felt totally out of it, so i got moved down to a different group, which only had one other guy in it. it was nice taking it a bit easier and by the end of the lesson id got my confidence back a bit and was doing quite well, had got my turns back properly etc. that night was our fondoue/raqulette meal thingy so immediately after my lesson i headed up to l'arpette. found the route there a lot easier than i ever had before which was good. when i got there i still felt a bit dodgy and my medic friends diagnosed me with a mild concussion. i set to work drinking to dull the pain, i also took lots of silly pics:

after a while they started bringing all the cheese and free alchol out. both of which excited me greatly as you can see from the following pictures..

me with A LOT of cheese

after a very nice salad to start, we all had little heater things on our tables and they bought us out a half cheese each and a plate of sandwich meat type things. i was even more excited..

mmm...yummy plate of cheese and ham

we were told that only one other group had ever finished their whole cheese which of course was a total challenge for us. it was hard, but WE DID IT! and beat everyone else from our uni to it too. after that the competitive spirit was within me, so when tim came around and asked if anyone was up for an intercoach boat race i agreed. i was pretty immense at it, and finished my pint without hesitation but the 90s bus still beat us. it was soem time after this that i realised id lost my wallet. due to being pretty drunk this resulted in me turning into an ugly crying mess. after having a bit of a tantrum for about half an hour someone found my wallet and i thanked him profusely and was then able to drunkenly dance to bohemium rhapsody feeling very happy. then came the hard part- we had to snowboard down the mountain by a torchlit procession. i actually did quite well and didnt fall over or hurt myself or anything, just took it slowly, and at least i actually did it unlike MJ who asked to be taken down in a snowmobile thingy! at the bottom me and nicki realised our other roommates werent down yet but thought we'd go back to our room anyway, only to find that neither of us had a key. at this point nicki started to go a bit weird. she was complaining about being really cold and was sitting on the floor shaking, then she started crying. even though she was the medic i decided that her blood sugar levels were low and chris, who is also a medic but a 4th year one so he actually knows quite a lot now, agreed with me. we tried to persuade her to eat something sugary, after all we'd eaten loads that evening but it was pretty much ham and cheese, not anything that would provide you with real energy, and nicki had pretty much been snowboarding all day with only a half hour rest. eventually sian got back, and also said nicki should eat something sugary byt she still didnt want to becuase she was full so in the end we made her squash with warm water and she started to feel better almost immediately. despite this, the next morning she woke up barely able to move her arm and one of her legs and decided she was going to have to have a day off. i also awoke and felt a bit dodgy, probably a combination of the hangover from all the free wine, eating far too much cheese when my body hadnt had any for a good 2 weeks, and a result of my mild concussion. so basically i decided to stay in until my lesson and keep Nicki company, although she slept for most of the time. my lesson that day started off quite unsuccessfully..due to the fact id not practiced that morning id forgotten a lot of stuff and my turns were really rubbish again, plus i was having real trouble with toe edge which was mainly what was wrong with my turns. i soon got it all back though and we did a couple of really really nice runs, i really enjoyed it despite being knackered. went back home afterwards and most likely had pasta to eat and of course started drinking. that night we had hoodie night at this small rock bar, which sounded really nice and chilled out after all the nights of intricate fancy dress etc. i drank a bottle of red wine before i went out too which meant i didnt have to buy any drinks whilst out so it was a nice cheap night. at the rock bar there was a band who were doing lots of covers relatively badly, but they did 2 bon jovi songs in a row and countless other classics so i enjoyed it nonetheless.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

half way through some of the comittee members got on stage and announced some awards. rich won one for being generally kind and friendly and stuff..the 70's team also won the slalom, even though most of the race team was on the 90's! After the bar closed we went on to the red hot saloon, which is the late bar, where there was also a band which was playing an almost identical set, but better! everyone rocked out again

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

dont remember what time we got back that night etc but i had a really good time and had nicely sobered up by the time we got to bed. i was glad i wasnt drunk, because it meant i wasnt hungover the next day, which was the day that nicki and rich and co were going to take me out to do some hard runs and stuff. we got up really quite early and met up with chris, steph, tom, charlotte and rich. here is a nice pic of us outside the hotel:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

we went right up to the top of the mountain and they did a red to start and LOADS of off piste stuff which was a lot of fun. everyone took loads of pics of us mucking around, these are some of the best ones:

me and nicki being "dangerous!"

the most fun part earlier on in the morning was the boardercross track we did, basically a small course designed for boarders to race on. i obviously didnt go as fast as nicki and rich and stuff but i did some really good carving and was proud of myself! i felt quite bad becuase i was generally holding the group up a bit but nicki told me not to worry. after a while steph and charlotte disapeared off to watch the freestyle competition and nicki told me she was going to take me to a black run- which basically means a really fucking steep mountain. the first one we tried to go to noone liked the look of though, except rich so he went off and did it by himself whilst the rest of us made our way to this other one. it was absoloutely fantastic. i didnt go down very fast becuase obviously it was too steep but i made my way down and didnt spend hardly any time sitting down and just sliding on my bum which is what nicki had told me to do if i got too scared. it had this wonderful bit where the path went through a kind of valleyish thing with high slopey walls either side so you could practically ride it like a half pipe. i got down to the bottom before the others somehow and was really glad id done it! after that nicki asked if i wanted to go to the snowpark, where there was some jumps and rails and stuff. we went there and i did 2 of the blue jumps but didnt get enough speed up to get up the other 2. on one of them i got a bit of air and landed it afterwards which i was very impressed with myself for. after that i missioned it down the mountain by myself becuase the others had gone for lunch at l'arpette and i'd promised sian id meet her back at our room becuase she didnt have a key, so i went and had a rest and some nice food. that afternoon i didnt have a lesson. instead it was the begginers slalom. after my crazy morning i was feeling incredibley tired and almost didnt have the energy but i cant resist a good bit of competition plus it was our last day so i didnt want to waste it. the begginers slalom was quite informal. we were told we didnt have to do turns, we could just do falling leaf if we liked, but i wanted to give it a go and despite being crap and falling over a couple of times and letting my technique go out of the window, i was still one of the only begginers to even try and do turns which i think got me some respect. rather than the course being marked by flags or whatever is normal, the slalom was actually marked by members of the committee standing around. the idea was that the team who made the least committee members move to avoid being hit was the winner. our team won yet again for being generally awesome. after the slalom i was absoloutely knackered and deicided just to do one more run alone then return my boots and board. it was very emotional doing so, and afterwards i had to go and buy a chocolate crepe and a beer to comfort myself. got back to our room and started trying to do some packing/cleaning/tidying type tasks, as we were supposed to be out of our rooms by 8 the following morning and i didnt think i fancied getting up really early after a night out to pack. we did do quite a bit of cleaning but as a group lacked the motivation to really finish and ended up drinking instead. i finished my crate of kronenbourg and hence completed the wall of beer that we'd been working on all week:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

we didnt have any food left, and decided to go for a room meal to the tex mex restuarant that was under our hotel. since it was a room meal and we'd adopted rich into our room he obviously came along too and chris appeared in our room about an hour before we planned to go so we invited him as well. i had beef and chicken fajitas which was lovely. chris, who we'd nicknamed "stomach of steel" after the amount of cheese he'd consumed for the sake of the team, decided to have some ridiculously huge triple burger thing, on the menu it said he got a free shot if he finished it, which of course he did, so that was quite exciting. after that we went back tot he room and started putting on our final fancy dress costume: decades night. we had to dress up as something from the era that our bus was named after. i was a 70's punk and nicki and sian helped me by cutting holes in my clothes and putting safety pins all over me etc

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
everyone in the room getting ready

eventually we were all ready and headed to meet everyone else in the foyer

us waiting for the lift..

when we got down to the foyer we found a lot of INCREDIBLEY drunk people including the chairman tim, who was also our bus captain, barely able to stand. he was dressed as the guys from a clockwork orange and it was actually a really good costume, but his drunkenness was a lot funnier. at the first bar we went to one of the ski alpine reps pulled my aside a bought me a free shot for my incredible fancy dress effort which was cool since i had no money at all and couldnt afford any more alchol all night. i also encountered in this bar a punk's mortal enemy- a hippy.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

we all ended up in the red hot saloon as normal and i had to remove my fake peircings becuase they were hurting. we did lots of dancing and specifically looked after an incredibley drunk girl called nick who'd been in my lessons. nicki bailed and went home quite early on and whilst i was tempted as id sobered up i decided i couldnt do so on the last night and instead went on to the only club on the resort- apocolypse. it was shit in there for a sober person so i stayed about half an hour and probably got back around half 3. setting an alarm for the next morning wasnt fun when it informed me that i was to be getting 3 hours and 50 minutes sleep. ouch. i decided that at least i could sleep on the coach. oh, at some point that night we were also informed that the 90s bus had won the overall busses competition and that chris hadnt won the most improved skiier award which we all thought was total bollocks so that was a shame.

the next morning when we awoke we were all feeling slightly tired and worse for wear, as you can see:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

despite this it was actually the most beautiful day yet outside and nicki wished she could be out boarding as it was perfect conditions. here's some pics of the view from the balcony of our room:

we managed to tidy and clean quite well. the last thing to be thrown away was of course the wall of beer. we then started taking things down to the coach. we had a free hour or so after that so with the tiny amounts of euros i had left i bought myself a chocolate brownie and some drinks for the coach, as well as a nice looking camembert which didnt go off till quite a bit after lent ended and a nice little handmade chocloate easter egg for my mum.eventually we all piled on the coach and set off. rich announced that he had managed to steal the 50's mascott- a kermit the frog hand puppet which was entirely mutilated. since the interbus competition was over this didnt count for anything real but it was a bit of a victory anyway. we hung it from the roof of the bus just to add insult to injury

becuase one of our bus drivers had had a heart attack over the course of the week we only had the one driver, this put us at a distinct disadvantage for getting home before the other coaches, which was made worse when our coach driver decided to go and visit the other one in hospital and we were stopped for a good hour. for somethign to do, we all got drunk on free fosters which tim was supposed to have given out on the journey there. we then realised that the toilet wasnt working and we all needed to pee. luckily we stopped at a service station soon and i had a big lunch which i put on my card. less drinking happened after that which was good becuase we didnt stop for about 6 hours. some time during this part of the journey tim got up and announced some bus awards, and i won a pair of really really nice skiing goggles for "being an awesome begginer and generally getting into the spirit of the trip" or something like that. i was very happy! eventually people started gettign bored and falling alseep so we persuaded tim to put on the back to the future trilogy and rich found a couple of bottles of crappy wine to kill some time. we watched all 3 of the BTTF films back to back and eventually got to the ferry port at about 2 in the morning. i was starving as i hadnt eaten since lunchtime, but bttf was keeping me positive. everyone else was pretty grumpy..this was made worse when they made each and every one of us go through passport control meaning that we missed our ferry by 5 mins and had to wait an hour and 20 mins with nothing at all to, as the terminal building place was shut. when we evertually got on the boat we had full english breakfasts and headed to duty free to stock up. we were all incredibley tired and grumpy:

after that the ferry docked and we got back on the coach. i slept most of the way home. we arrived at about 6 in the morning and i drove to my house in brighton which was cold and deserted. despite the hard times and the slight shitness of the journey etc it was still one of the greatest holidays i've ever been on and i CAN'T WAIT to go again next year!!
